Borussia Dortmund pondering over increasing Jadon Sancho asking price

According to Bundesliga football expert Kevin Hatchard (h/t Daily Star), Borussia Dortmund may look to increase their asking price for Jadon Sancho as Manchester United grow desperate to sign the Englishman.

The 20-year-old joined Dortmund in 2017 after having come through the youth ranks at Manchester City. During his time in Germany, Sancho has grown into one of the best young footballers in Europe.

After registering 20 goals and 20 assists in the 2019/20 season, Sancho has started the new season brilliantly as well. In two games this term, he already has a goal and two assists.

It is no secret that Manchester United have been hot on the trails of the England international all through the summer. However, they have been unable to convince Dortmund to bring down their £109m asking price. (h/t Daily Star)

It had been claimed that United CEO Ed Woodward remains confident of negotiating a lower fee for the 20-year-old.

However, as per Kevin Hatchard (h/t Daily Star), the German giants will not accept a lower sum. In fact, if anything, they may further increase their valuation of Sancho.

  • Ed Woodward confident of striking an agreement for Jadon Sancho
  • Man United enter negotiations with Inter Milan for Ivan Perisic

Judging by Manchester United’s performance in the season opener against Crystal Palace this weekend, it is clear that they are in desperate need of reinforcements on the right wing as well as defence.

Signing Sancho would have been a huge boost for the club. However, it seems like the club’s tactic to wait out in hope that Dortmund will budge on their asking price is misfiring.

With all teams around us strengthening themselves, things are looking bleak currently. With two weeks left before the transfer window closes, it is high time that the club ramped up the transfer activity.
