According to Voetbal, as cited by Yorkshire Evening Post, SC Cambuur are monitoring Crysencio Summerville. The newly promoted Eredivisie outfit reportedly want to sign the Leeds United youngster on a season-long loan deal. They were even interested in signing the attacker permanently a few years ago but the player opted to move to Elland Road instead.

Crysencio Summerville’s Progress At Leeds United

A product of the Feyenoord youth academy Crysencio Summerville joined Leeds United last summer on a free transfer. He was drafted in the reserve side that fared quite well in Premier League 2, even winning the competition.

Summerville was one of the protagonists with six goals and six assists in just twelve matches. He built a healthy attacking partnership with the likes of Sam Greenwood and Joel Gelhardt. Their collective contributions were indeed critical in helping Leeds United’s U23 side finish top of the Elite Development League.

Therefore, it is needless to say that Summerville has been progressing well at Elland Road. It appears that his past experience in Eredivisie is helping him settling in quickly to life in England.

The youngster is set to play an even bigger role in the reserve side next season, although it seems more likely that he will be drafted into the senior side at some point next season. A lot will depend on how he deals with the added competition from new signing Amari Miller next season.

Should Leeds United Let Him Leave?

SC Cambuur’s desire to sign Crysencio Summerville is hardly surprising, as the youngster had featured in 21 Eredivisie matches prior to his move to Elland Road. He is quite familiar with the Dutch brand of football, and his dynamism could turn out to be a massive help for the newly-promoted side as they look to survive next season.

From Leeds United’s perspective, a loan move could make sense as it will give the Dutchman the opportunity to gain some valuable minutes in top-flight football. As iterated earlier, the winger already has experience in professional football, while he also shouldn’t find any difficulties in settling into life at Cambuur.

However, a lot will depend on the Whites’ transfer activity over the next few weeks. Having lost Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez, the club require more options in the creative department, potentially bringing Summerville into the picture.

Ideally, it would be wiser for Leeds to sign a new first-team attacker before sanctioning a loan move for Summerville, who is more than ready to showcase his talents at the highest level of football.
