Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham have discovered their opponents for the next round of the Europa League, following the draw for the competition’s last 16.

Each of the Premier League’s representative sides will harbour ambitions of winning the trophy after making it through the first knockout stage, with Manchester United coming through a difficult-looking draw in comfortable fashion after thrashing Real Sociedad 4-0 on aggregate.

Unlike the round of 32, there were no restrictions on the draw though the English sides have avoided the prospect of all-Premier League encounters in the last 16.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been handed a glamour tie against AC Milan with the seven-time European champions back in continental competition this season, an impressive season from the Rossoneri being spearheaded by former Red Devils’ forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Tottenham also breezed into the last-16 draw after an 8-1 thumping of Wolfsberger, Dele Alli’s superb overhead kick the highlight of their comfortable victory over the Austrian side and Spurs have been drawn to face Dinamo Zagreb in the next stage.

Arsenal’s passage was less straightforward as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s late goal secured a 3-2 comeback victory over Benfica on Thursday night, whilst Rangers also maintained their impressive progress under Steven Gerrard after overcoming Royal Antwerp 9-5 on aggregate after two thrilling clashes.

The north London side’s reward is a reunion with Olympiacos, the Gunners having been eliminated by the Greek side in last season’s round of 32 following an extra-time second leg defeat at the Emirates.

Rangers will face Slavia Prague with the Czech champions having eliminated Leicester City in the previous round following a 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.
