Juventus have reportedly held a ‘meeting’ with the agent of Leeds United star Willy Gnonto, as they believe he ‘could leave’ after relegation from the Premier League.

The Whites’ side is likely to look quite different next season to how it has this term. Indeed, it’s probable a number of the bigger names in the squad will find bigger clubs to move onto, despite nobody really pulling their weight this campaign.

One man that’s already seemingly the subject of a lot of interest is Gnonto. Arsenal and Manchester City are the latest big names to be linked with a move for the Italian.

He’s also been linked with Juventus for a while, and the Serie A giants are stepping up their interest.

Indeed, Gazzetta dello Sport reports ‘meetings’ have been ongoing with a couple of their target’s agents – one of those regarding Gnonto.

The report does not state how those meetings have gone, but does say they are ‘not yet negotiations’. In any case, it’s believed Gnonto ‘could leave’ Elland Road following  Leeds’ relegation.

Juventus are seemingly waiting to see what becomes of one of their own players, Federico Chiesa, before beginning their pursuit.

The report suggests that Gnonto and Nicolo Zaniolo are both ‘concrete options’ if Chiesa goes. Their financial strife highlights why the moves could be tricky before that happens.

Indeed, given it was enough to see them docked 10 points at the back end of the season, it doesn’t seem it will be fixed in a hurry.

However, Juventus could soon get their wish in shipping out Chiesa. Liverpool, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are all keen and expected to ‘do battle’ for him this summer.

That report suggests it will take £38million for any side to snare Chiesa, but Juve will be ‘hoping to initiate a bidding war’ for the winger. It’s unclear exactly what Gnonto would cost, but the Whites paid in the region of £4million for him in 2022.

His value will have gone up this season, given he scored four goals and provided four assists and looked a bright spark in an otherwise stale side, despite the fact he hardly featured at the back end of the season.

However, it won’t have gone up massively, so Juve could be in line to snatch him away from the Whites if things come together, and it would be huge for him to head to the Serie A giants from the West Yorkshire outfit.
