Germany dominated the opening game of EURO 2024, crushing 10-man Scotland 5-1 with Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can goals.

It took just 10 minutes to get the first goal of the European Championship, as Florian Wirtz saw his low drive from the edge of the area palmed onto the base of the upright by uncertain Angus Gunn and the ricochet was lucky for him.

Germany dominated possession and Jamal Musiala blasted into roof of the net from 12 yards for 2-0, then Ryan Porteus was sent off for a terrible studs-up tackle on the ankle of Ilkay Gundogan in the six-yard box, which also led to the Kai Havertz penalty.

Substitute Niclas Fullkrug hit a ferocious strike into the top corner, then had another disallowed for offside.

Instead, former Roma defender Antonio Rudiger accidentally scored an own goal when Scotland tried to knock a free kick back across the face of goal and it ricocheted in off his head.

Former Juventus midfielder Emre Can got the fifth in stoppages, drilling into the far bottom corner from the edge of the box. He was a late addition to the squad for this tournament.
