Ethan Ampadu: We go into every game with confidence | OneFootball

Leeds United will face Cardiff City at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, as the Whites begin February on home turf.

Ahead of the game, Ethan Ampadu chatted to LUTV to preview the match, whilst also reflecting on recent performances from the side.

After a strong run of results over Christmas and throughout January, the captain now wants the team to remain focused and keep going.

“I've said from the very start of this season that there's a group here that's got unbelievable character, unbelievable strength in the mindset,” Ampadu stated.

“And for us, it's just about going out and showing everyone that that's who we are. Players who were here last year, we tried to learn from maybe a not-so-great Christmas period last year and how that might have affected our season.

“So we knew we wanted to change that going into this year. That was done, but that's just that part done now. We know we've still got a long way to go this season.”

Now facing the Bluebirds, who arrive in West Yorkshire in fine form themselves, Ampadu knows they are coming up against a tough opponent who are now eight games unbeaten.

Ethan explained: “They're going to come into this game full of confidence.

“They're going to want to win and want to get something out of this game. But, we go into every game with the confidence that we can go win.

“We know what expect from them. We know they're going to make it a difficult game.

“But we know that if we're on it, if we're on our levels, then we can make it a difficult game for them.”
