ESPN sources are now reporting that Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of a transfer target that their fans pretty much adore.

It’s not often you will hear a transfer rumour that is so well liked and backed by the majority of the fan base, but that is pretty much what we are seeing here.

Sources: Chelsea close in on two massive DONE DEALS this week!

Xavi Simons to Chelsea is a very popular transfer rumour amongst The Blues fan base. I obviously cannot speak for all of them, and I’m sure there are some who don’t want Simons, but from what I have seen out there, he is a popular target. And things are heating up on this one.

Yesterday, it was finally confirmed that Chelsea and Leipzig were now in club-to-club talks regarding a deal for Simons to head to Stamford Bridge and since then, it’s heated up even more.

And now, an exclusive report via our colleagues at Caught Offside has revealed that Simons has actually now gone as far as agreeing personal terms with Chelsea today with just the fee between the clubs to be agreed on.

Chelsea and Xavi Simons is now really heating up and is a deal that I expect to happen now. The fee needs to be agreed, sure, but I don’t think we can be too far off that happening now as this deal has gone so far.

ESPN updates

Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons, report ESPN.

They also claim that Leipzig expect to make a profit on any sale and are looking for a fee in excess of €60m.

Personally, I think reports like this are a bit behind as they claim no personal terms have been agreed yet. I think they have, and I believe this one is probably moving faster than the media are reporting so far.
