Espanyol have early this week been dealt a blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that defender Marash Kumbulla is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Kumbulla, for his part, featured from the off over the weekend, as Espanyol made the short trip across Catalunya for a La Liga meeting with Barcelona.
En route to his side’s eventual defeat, however, the Albanian international was forced into a premature departure from proceedings, late in the first-half.
Kumbulla, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests on Monday.
And as much, as alluded to above, have confirmed an injury.
As per the reliable Cat Radio, the on-loan AS Roma man has suffered an issue in ‘the pectineus muscle of his left leg, in the groin area’.
The exact extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed, but Kumbulla will certainly not recover in time to feature against Valencia this weekend.
