The brass at La Liga outfit Espanyol have set their sights on a summer deal for a member of the attacking ranks at Real Valladolid.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Raúl Moro as the player in question.

Winger Moro, for his part, spent this past season building on his reputation as a potential star in the making.

Despite Real Valladolid’s collective struggles – the Pucelanos were relegated back to Spain’s 2nd tier – their young attacker continued to shine bright.

All told, in 34 appearances between La Liga and the Copa del Rey, Moro racked up a solid haul of five goals and six assists.

Such production has not gone at all unnoticed across the Spanish football landscape, with a number of clubs understood to be keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old with a view to next season.

And as alluded, late this week, a new suitor have been named in the race for Moro’s services.

As per a report from MD:

‘As reported by ‘El 1900′ and confirmed by this newspaper, Espanyol are interested in the 22-year-old from Abrera, who has a history in the club’s youth teams.’

Espanyol are yet to take their interest as far as tabling an offer, but will be keeping a close eye on Moro at the upcoming U21 European Championships.

Dutch heavyweights Ajax, meanwhile, also remain in the picture, after seeing negotiations for the former Barcelona youth talent break down back in January.
