Espanyol head coach Manolo González has on Monday secured for himself a well-earned individual accolade.

This comes amid confirmation that the 46-year-old has been voted La Liga Manager of the Month for April.

González has for his part spent the month to date guiding his Espanyol side away from the relegation zone, and towards another season in Spain’s top-flight.

As things stand, the Periquitos sit a full seven points clear of the bottom three, in 13th spot in the La Liga table.

As much comes in large part owing to what has been a hugely productive April to date.

Espanyol have taken to the pitch on a trio of occasions since the beginning of the month, locking horns with all of Rayo Vallecano, Celta Vigo, and Getafe.

And the Catalans maintained a perfect record of three wins from three across this stretch, racking up seven goals scored, and not a single one conceded.

After the Spaniard was last week nominated for La Liga Manager of the Month, Manolo González, in turn, has on Monday officially secured the prize.
