Alfie Haaland discussed the list of clubs he was interested in when choosing where Erling Haaland would play after Borussia Dortmund.

A Norwegian documentary called ‘Haaland — The Big Decision’, was aired this month on Viaplay, the Scandinavian streaming service. The documentary has revealed how the striker chose his destination using a points-based system. Haaland, father of Manchester City’s Norwegian striker, explained the whole process of his son signing for the English club and his departure from Dortmund.

“On our list, I think Manchester City is the best team. Bayern Munich is number two. We have Real Madrid as number three, Paris Saint-Germain as number four…”, explained the former City player in quotes picked up by Marca via The Times.

“We also have some English teams apart from City that are quite good; Liverpool and Chelsea. Then there is Barcelona. They are all more or less on the same line,” he added.

The documentary also features Erling Haaland, who talks openly about his decision to join the Premier League champions and one of the differentiating factors that made him decide to join the club.

“I’ve never made the decision to go to one club or another based on the manager, but it’s a big advantage to have Pep Guardiola at City, he’s the best manager in the world,” he explained.

The documentary also details the timing of Haaland’s decision to move to City, in the second week of April: “It’s the best sporting project in the world at the moment and it’s where I will do my best”.
