Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has further stoked the fire surrounding the Borussia Dortmund striker, claiming that four English clubs are on the shortlist of those who can afford his superstar client.

The Norwegian phenom has been linked with a number of big clubs since he broke onto the world stage at Borussia Dortmund last January. In that time, the striker has scored 43 goals in the same number of games for the German giants.

To the surprise of nobody, Manchester City are one of the few clubs linked with Haaland, not only due to their large transfer and wage budget, but also the player’s link with the club in the form of his dad who played for the Blues between 2000-2003.

Speaking exclusively with the BBC on Tuesday, Erling Haaland’s notorious agent Mino Raiola has had this to say on a potential move for his superstar client:

“Only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy [Erling Haaland] and give the platform you would like after you’ve been in Borussia Dortmund – and four of those clubs are in [England].”

Popular statistics website Transfermarkt currently value Haaland at over £100 million. However, the Norwegian striker does have a release clause of nearly half that figure, which comes into effect in the summer of 2022.
