Manchester City and Norway international superstar striker Erling Haaland has taken his commercial activities to another level with investment in a hair-tie company.

It is the latest development in the 23-year-old’s skyrocketing career both on and off the pitch, as brands from all sectors scramble to get a signature from the Manchester City forward given his standing in the global game.

Haaland has already penned a number of high-profile endorsement contracts since propelling himself to the forefront of the European game, including Samsung Norway, Breitling, Hyperice, and Viaplay.

But the Norwegian’s latest venture sees him investing in a company that he has seemingly worked closely with since his days at Borussia Dortmund, and a company that has helped shape his iconic look both on and off the field.

According to the information of The Telegraph’s Sam Wallace, Erling Haaland has bought a stake in his ‘favourite’ Norwegian hair-tie company Bon Dep, with the striker’s commercial team led by his father Alf Inge confirming the investment with a view to doubling its turnover.

It is claimed that Haaland has ‘long worn’ Bon Dep’s “Kknekki” hair tie manufactured by the company, in an endorsement which founder Vibeke Gronseth credits with helping Bon Dep grow its revenues to the equivalent of £7 million annually.

Commenting on the investment, Erling Haaland exclaimed, “I’m proud to become a shareholder in Bon Dep. Kknekki has been my go-to hair tie for years, and it is undoubtedly the best in the world.”

While Erling Haaland and his commercial team have been working behind-the-scenes on his financial activities, Manchester City’s number nine will no doubt be working hard to secure yet more success for the Premier League giants this season.

Manchester City continue to compete on three fronts heading into the final few weeks of the season, facing Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals.

A hotly-contested Premier League title race is also ongoing with Manchester City currently leading the English top-flight table with strong competition from challengers Arsenal and Liverpool.
