Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has become the first player in Premier League history to win both the Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards in the same campaign.

The record-breaking striker first picked up the senior award on Saturday and has now added the second prize, finishing atop a shortlist which also included Sven Botman, Moises Caicedo, Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka.

Never before has a player won both awards in the same season, adding yet another entry to Haaland's long list of records since his move to England last summer.

He continues City's streak of victories in the Young Player of the Season voting, taking over from back-to-back winner Phil Foden.

Introduced for the 2019/20 season, the award can be won by any player who begins the season aged 23 or under - a ruling which has attracted plenty of criticism in years gone by.

With Haaland set to turn 23 in July, he will be eligible to win the award next season as well under the current regulations, with teammate Foden also still in the running as he turns 23 on the final day of the current season.

Of those in the final shortlist, only Mac Allister and Odegaard will no longer be eligible.
