Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has limped out of training with Norway earlier today. It is an injury scare for the world champions as City gear up for the business end of the season following this weekend’s international break.

Vision shared on social media showed City’s number 9 appear sore while training with his country. The striker appeared in discomfort during a routine training exercise. Erling Haaland didn’t complete the training session with his teammates. At this stage, there hasn’t been a further update on the condition of City’s star striker.

The fresh injury concern for Erling Haaland could become an unwanted distraction for Manchester City. Given Haaland’s stature in the game and importance to the world champions, attention will now shift towards the Norway setup for an update on Haaland’s injury status. Pep Guardiola’s side will need the services of their star striker as they begin the business end of the season following the international break.

Speaking after Manchester City’s weekend win over Newcastle, Pep Guardiola was hopeful of his players all surviving their international duties. He told the media: “I will rest, and when they arrive on the Thursday, we will see which players survive and not survive. It’s a wish [that everyone is okay]. It’s difficult sometimes in that period in the busiest time of the season. The schedule is the schedule.”

The footage of Erling Haaland struggling with an injury isn’t a good start to the international break for Manchester City. It will now be hoped that any injury suffered by Haaland isn’t serious and he can take his place against Arsenal when City resumes domestic duties after this round of internationals.
