One FIFA 23 user has exposed a cheeky little trick that allows players to sign Erling Haaland on Career Mode for a mere £1 fee.
The Manchester City star is arguably the hottest property in world football right now after starting the 2022/23 Premier League season on fire for his new club.
Any suggestion that the so-called ‘Bundesliga tax’ had to be taken into account when assessing his prospects in England’s top-flight have firmly been put to bed and consequently, the big Norwegian has proven the naysayers wrong in emphatic fashion.
In fact, so immense has been Haaland’s level of performance to date that he’s currently on course to smash every single Premier League goal record under the sun – not bad, ey?
Kudos if you were a believer.
As a result of his outrageous form in the real world, Haaland’s stock in the virtual world has risen tenfold too.
Players on both Ultimate Team and Career Mode in the new FIFA 23 game have been absolutely desperate to get their hands on him.
And luckily for those who love the single player mode, it’s proven not too difficult at all to get him under your club’s banner.
Shared to TikTok, the video created by the FIFA player begins with him taking charge of Manchester City and immediately heading to the ‘squad hub’ tab.
Once there, he opens talks with Haaland for a contract renewal and proceeds to insert a £1 release clause into his new deal.
Now, the City board aren’t daft and instantly fire their new boss for his antics.
But the jokes on them because players can simply opt to take charge of any club with a vacant manager position in the game.
Once at a new team, the user triggers Haaland’s release clause and negotiates his contract, eventually signing him for an absolute steal that equates to about the same as one and a half bars of chocolate.
Check out the video below.
You know what they say: don’t hate the player, hate the game.
