Erling Haaland has declared himself fit and ready to play for Norway in their upcoming friendly against the Czech Republic. It is welcome news for Manchester City after the striker appeared to suffer an injury while training for his country earlier this week.

Speaking before Norway faces off against the Czech Republic, Erling Haaland was quick to allay fears over his fitness. In comments relayed by Manchester Evening News reporter Joe Bray City’s number 9 said he was fit and ready to play. He told the media: “I feel good and am ready to play the match.”

Haaland further explained that he was feeling fine. He also added that Pep Guardiola had a tongue in cheek warning for his stars ahead of the international break. He added: “I’m feeling fine. I didn’t walk off the training, I don’t know who wrote that. I trained a full training session. (Pep said) ‘if one of you comes back not fresh, I will come after you,’ and smiled.”

With Erling Haaland moving to put to bed any injury concerns, it is welcome news for Manchester City. Their star striker has a key role to play for Pep Guardiola’s side in the remainder of this season. With 29 goals in 34 appearances so far this campaign, the world champions will need Haaland’s goals and presence on the pitch. The world champions are an infinitely more dangerous prospect with their star striker fit and firing.

The update provided by Erling Haaland himself has put to bed any lingering injury concerns. With the striker declaring himself fit attention will now shift to his performance for Norway against the Czech Republic.
