Gio Reyna has been one of the biggest surprises at Borussia Dortmund this season, breaking into the first-team at just 17 years old and scoring one of the club’s best goals of the season.
Ever since coming off the bench to make his debut against Augsburg back in January, Reyna has appeared in each of Dortmund’s following 10 matches, supplying an incredible assist in their first-leg Champions League victory over PSG.
Reyna’s earned a ton of fans, including team-mate Erling Haaland, who has dubbed him ‘The American Dream’.
“He’s 17-and-a-half soon, so in such a young age to be so calm on the ball and play for such a big team, it’s very fascinating to see how calm he is and he doesn’t care about anything, he just jumps right into it.
“The same with Jadon (Sancho), he’s a top talent and we are lucky to have him here.”
Prior to football being put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, Reyna pledged his allegiance to the United States national team.
