Along with Hojbjerg, Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer are also nominated.

Hojbjerg only left Southampton this summer for Spurs, where he has been outstanding for manager Jose Mourinho.

Schmeichel is the defending winner, having won the award last year.
