Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira has called out Manchester United's Erik ten Hag over his scheduling complaints, insisting the Dutchman does not know the meaning of being overloaded.

Marcus Rashford limped off injured during the recent 2-0 win over Everton, after which Ten Hag blamed United's hectic schedule for the issue and challenged the Premier League to make a change.

That was United's third game in just six days, but Ten Hag found no sympathy from Ferreira who, despite watching his side win the Campeonato Paulista, was in no mood to humour the United man's concerns.

"Football here has some fantastic qualities, but there are others that are not human," Ferreira told the media. "To have nine games in a month...

"The Manchester United coach complains because Rashford got hurt and that is a consequence of the number of games he has. I'd like to ask him, 'Look, in these two months, I've got nine games each month. Shut up man, you don't know what you're talking about.

"We have to change this."

Ferreira continued his criticism of Brazil's schedulers with a statement which may resonate with many across the globe.

"I don't know if it will be reduced," he said. "Forgive me those who don't like to hear it. We have to reduce the number of games. Whoever decides has to humanise this. Money is not everything. It is possible, with fewer games, to earn money. If the product is good, people pay."

Ferreira's comments come shortly after reports emerged suggesting Rashford may face a number of weeks on the sidelines.
