Erik ten Hag says Manchester United will continue to hold meetings about strengthening the squad in January and next summer.

After a chastening start to life in the Premier League with losses to Brighton and Brentford, United have bounced back with five wins in their last six games, the only blot being a home defeat to Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

Ten Hag is due to attend meetings during the September international break to discuss transfer plans for next year.

"Always to use such breaks [is] useful," Ten Hag told MUTV. "We have many meetings, we have to improve the structures in and around the club, we will do.

"We will also look to the window in January or next summer already but also to improve our way of playing by making plans and, of course, this coming period with every third day a game we have to get ready for that.

"The players: 90% is away, the others will train proper and for the rest we have to prepare very well and I hope everyone stays fit, return, healthy back and we have to go in and attack."

Despite a late flurry of activity in the summer transfer which saw the arrival of Casemiro, United are still eyeing up a new central midfielder, having unsuccessfully pursued Barcelona and Netherlands star Frenkie de Jong.
