Erik ten Hag is planning for two early summer signings to ensure the players are ready to join Manchester United on their pre-season tour.

That’s according to The Athletic, which suggests that Mason Mount could be one of the first players through the doors of Carrington in the forthcoming transfer window.

The outlet was the first to confirm that Mount was swaying towards a move to United over the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, as both clubs had been actively monitoring the 24-year-old.

Personal terms between Mount and United have now reportedly been agreed upon. The only thing left to finalise is the fee that the Reds will pay Chelsea for their academy graduate, who has been at the club since he was six years old.

How United’s summer is shaping up

The second arrival remains to be seen. United, like in every transfer window, are being linked with a new player every day.

Latest reports include ties with Sofyan Amrabat, Kim Min-jae and Declan Rice.

United’s pre-season tour begins on July 12 in Norway against rivals Leeds United and given their recent relegation from the Premier League, it may be the last time the two clubs meet for a while.

The window opens on June 14, giving the board around a fortnight to oversee deals and integrate them into the squad.
