On Monday, Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed that manager Marco Rose will leave the club this summer in order to join Borussia Dortmund.
Rose will replace Edin Terzić, who was appointed caretaker manager for the remainder of the 2020-21 season after the German giants opted to sack Lucien Favre on 13 December.
According to kicker, Mönchengladbach have a five-man managerial shortlist, which includes former PSV manager and star midfielder Mark van Bommel as well as Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.
Florian Kohfeldt (Werder Bremen), Jesse Marsch (RB Salzburg), and Adi Hütter (Eintracht Frankfurt) are also in the running to take over the vacant position.
However, kicker have been quick to point out that it’s very unlikely that there will be a deal struck between Mönchengladbach and ten Hag.
The 51-year-old ten Hag has been in charge at Ajax since December 2017, winning three trophies and nearly taking his side to the 2019 Champions League final.
