Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is not allowing himself to get too concerned about his side’s profligacy in front of goal.

An own goal by Sebastian Polter and a close-ranger header from Sébastien Haller was enough to give the Amsterdam outfit victory on Sunday.

But it could have been so much more comfortable for the Eredivisie leaders had they been clinical with the plethora of chances they created at Fortuna Sittard Stadion.

“You sometimes have these phases in a season,” ten Hag told ESPN (via De Telegraaf).

“I would only really start to worry if we don’t get any more opportunities But we have created a lot of opportunities, especially for the rest.

“Dušan Tadić missed three or four, Haller too. And Antony also two. If we do make a few more, it won’t be too difficult for us.”

The win leaves Ajax three points ahead of nearest challengers Vitesse.
