Manchester United are set to wrap up the 2022/23 Premier League campaign this afternoon as they welcome Fulham to Old Trafford for the final game.

Erik ten Hag’s men secured Champions League qualification earlier this week and now, the Dutchman could seal a third-place finish in his maiden season in England.

On top of the successful league campaign, Ten Hag ended United’s six-year wait for silverware by lifting the Carabao Cup and he has another cup final to look forward to next week.

United will face Manchester City in a first-ever all-Manchester FA Cup final in six days but Ten Hag has named several of his first-team regulars for the visit of Fulham.

Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Jadon Sancho are all starting the game and speaking ahead of kick-off, the manager provided some insight into the thinking behind his decisions.

“We played on Thursday and we want to have fresh players, we want to win this game. We can secure third place and we can match a record of 27 wins, which was done 20 years ago,” Ten Hag told MUTV, via the Manchester Evening News.

Ten Hag was quizzed on the inclusion of Alejandro Garnacho, who starts for the first time since recovering from a serious ankle injury.

“It’s only been done one other time in the history of this magnificent club. He deserves to start and now he can show if he deserves it. I’ve spoken to him and that’s the next step for him to be a starting 11 player,” he said on Garnacho.

“We know he has a huge impact coming from the bench. We want to see it [from the start] and to be fair, he’s already shown this season several times when he’s started, he can do a really good job for the team.”
