Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer, Gianluca di Marzio has stated.

Ten Hag’s position at United has been uncertain and Di Marzio has now spoken to SoccerNews.NL about the future of the Dutchman, stating that he will depart the club in the summer. On top of that, the Red Devils are also looking at potential replacements for the ex-Ajax boss.

Three candidates pointed out by Di Marzio are Kieran McKenna, Roberto de Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino. There is a chance that McKenna could join Chelsea and if that happens, Pochettino could become a prominent candidate for the Old Trafford hotseat.

It is stated that United have made the decision about Ten Hag a while ago and contact has already been made with McKenna. But the ex-United assistant boss is a very appealing name across Europe and Brighton also like him as a replacement for De Zerbi. As for Chelsea, their leading candidates are McKenna and Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca.

For United, the decision on Ten Hag has been made and a win in the FA Cup final will not change that. It does seem as if a managerial domino could break out in England and it will involve two Italian managers.
