Tottenham Hotspur clinched their place in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup following a spectacular victory over Chelsea via penalties. The two sides drew 1-1 at the final whistle leading to a penalty shootout, where Mason Mount’s horrid effort sealed the victory for the Lilywhites, who were remarkable in the second half.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup Vs Chelsea

Hugo Lloris 6/10

OneFootball Videos

Hugo Lloris was lucky to get away with Chelsea failing to make use of their chances as most of their efforts failed to find the target. Failed to make a save in the penalty shootout but was once again lucky as Mount shot wide.

Japhet Tanganga 5/10

A bad day at the office for Japhet Tanganga, who looked sloppy with his play, at times. However, it was understandable given the lack of game-time he has had in recent months.

Eric Dier 7/10

Eric Dier experienced a bizarre moment in the game that saw him running down to the dressing room in the middle of the game, with Jose Mourinho following him. He looked impressive for most part of the game.

Toby Alderweireld 5/10

It was one of those games for Toby Alderweireld, where the Belgian completely failed to provide any sort of defensive solidity. His positioning was poor and he could have done a much better job of keeping check of the Chelsea attackers.

Serge Aurier 6.5/10

Serge Aurier impressed the onlookers with his ability to wriggle through tight spaces with his passes. He had a good combination play with Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura on the right flank.

Gedson Fernandes 5.5/10

Nothing special from the Portuguese, who was barely involved in possession. Made a couple of runs into the box but wasn’t enough to trouble Chelsea.

Moussa Sissoko 5.5/10

Provided that additional body in central midfield, though it proved to be useless as the Frenchman failed to deliver anything else aside from his physicality and aggression.

Tanguy Ndombele 6/10

Tanguy Ndombele had a mixed game tonight. He was slow to settle into the game in the first place but showed impressive quality to help Tottenham dominate the proceedings in the second half.

Sergio Reguilon 7/10

Sergio Reguilon should have done a lot of better to keep up with the Chelsea attackers. However, the Spaniard did well to make amends, causing problems for the Chelsea defence with his forays down the flanks. It was he who provided the ball that led to the equaliser from Lamela.

Erik Lamela 8/10

Erik Lamela was by far the best player for Tottenham Hotspur this evening. His physicality, aggression and work-rate were critical especially without the presence of a proper striker in the team. Also scored the all-important equaliser late in the game.

Steven Bergwijn 6/10

Steven Bergwijn had a disappointing game this evening as he struggled to make an impact. He lacked confidence and failed to utilise his pace to cause any menace for the Chelsea defence.

SUBSTITUTES

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 6.5/10

Offered a bit of balance in the Tottenham midfield after coming on for Gedson around the hour-mark. The Dane also scored calmly from the spot-kick, tucking it right into the corner.

Harry Kane 6/10

Provided the much-needed physicality and ingenuity in the Tottenham attack during the final phase of the game.

Lucas Moura 6/10

The Brazilian was a late replacement for Bergwijn but did not make an impact on the proceedings.
