Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich just 24 hours before the summer transfer window shuts.
That’s according to a story in the French press this weekend which claims that the European champions are on the hunt for a back-up to Robert Lewandowski, and believe the former Paris Saint-Germain striker is the answer.
Foot Mercato say that Hansi Flick’s side have been in contact with the striker and believe that a deal is close to be completed.
Choupo-Moting has had a remarkable career up to this point, bouncing around several Bundesliga sides before moving to Stoke for a single season.
But since 2018 he has been with the French giants, acting as a squad player behind Kylian Mbappé and Neymar.
His two-year stint at Parc des Princes came to an end at the end of last term, having played a starring role in PSG’s Champions League quarter-final win over Atalanta.
The 31-year-old is now a free agent.
