FC Barcelona continue to have some contract renewals on their mind as they head into next season. The likes of Frenkie de Jong and Jules Kounde seem prepared to pledge their allegiance to the club for the coming years. However, other operations still require attention from Barcelona.

The club is looking to wrap up as many renewal operations as possible, and as quickly as possible. For La Blaugrana, the continuity of their most important players is arguably just as decisive as the arrival of new players this summer.

However, one operation in particular that came with a special condition was the one involving Eric Garcia. While Hansi Flick originally convinced him to stay at Barcelona despite coming close to an exit in January, it once again took the coach to convince the player to commit his future to the club.

After all, as highlighted by SPORT, there was only one condition that Eric Garcia had to commit his future to the club. He wanted to feel like he could compete and be significant on the pitch for Barcelona, and that is exactly what Flick assured him about.

Instead of promising minutes, which is something Flick never does for anyone, he reportedly assured Garcia that he would get a role in the upcoming season that mirrored his impact in the final stages of last season. That was reportedly all Garcia needed to commit himself to Barcelona once more.

Now, despite the fact that there is no rush to finalise his renewal just yet, there seems to be an agreement in place already. With only official confirmation now left, Garcia is expected to renew his contract with Barcelona until 2030, adding four extra years to his current deal that expires in 2026.
