Eric García has decided to return to Barcelona and a deal will be completed after the completion of the Champions League, according to Sport.
The 19-year-old will seek to end the current campaign with Manchester City before hoping to return to the club he started out with at academy level.
García joined City in 2017 and has made the breakthrough into Pep Guardiola’s squad this season, making 13 appearances in the Premier League.
However, his former club have been reportedly seeking to boost their options at centre-half which has led them to the decision to move for García.
The report states that Barcelona are intending to force a deal through this summer, with García keen on a return to the Camp Nou.
Although, with Manchester City still involved in the Champions League, it appears the defender won’t be seeking to leave the club until after the competition is completed.
City currently lead Real Madrid 2-1 ahead of their second leg meeting at the Etihad next Friday.
