Eric Choupo-Moting responds to doubters after shock PSG move | OneFootball

It was one of the more bizarre transfers of the summer but Eric Chopu-Moting believes he is fitting in well at PSG.

The Cameroon international’s move from Stoke City raised eyebrows but the forward insists he is only interested in what the club and manager think.

Having played under Thomas Tuchel at Mainz, Choupo-Moting is pleased to have been reunited and is happy to have already found the net for the club.

“There are always people a little negative about my transfer,” he said. “But I always thought that I had confidence in myself, the most important thing was to know what the coach or club think.

“After that it’s good to have scored in Rennes, and it’s important to score from the start. I feel very integrated, we laugh and work well together. I feel like I’m in a good family.”

Explaining how the move came about, he added: “After last season, Tuchel called me. We have always been in contact since I played under his orders in Mainz. He sent me a text message and asked me if I saw myself playing for PSG so I said ‘yes, of course’.

“He knows my qualities, I know mine too. I can only learn with him as was the case in Germany.”
