Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has issued a word of warning to Liverpool ahead of the Champions League final.

The Reds face Real Madrid in Kyiv at the end of the month and Cantona has warned Jürgen Klopp’s side not to expect any favours from the referee when they take on the 12-time European champions.

Speaking to Eurosport, the enigmatic Frenchman said: “Putting the toothpaste in the tube is one of the things that is the most difficult in life, but there is something even more complicated – getting a penalty against Real Madrid in the Champions League.”

And the 51-year-old also slammed Madrid’s refusal to form a guard of honour for La Liga champions Barcelona when the two sides met at Camp Nou on Sunday evening.

“I cannot believe that Real Madrid did not make a hall for Barça,” he added.

“What a lack of respect, come on man!”

Cantona will be returning to Old Trafford in June when he will play alongside celebrities and fellow former professionals in the Soccer Aid charity football match for Unicef.

“There is no place like home. Knowing I am coming back to Old Trafford is a special feeling,” he said.
