Eric Bailly is close to returning to Villarreal, according to Relevo. The centre-back has left Beşiktaş after a short and unsuccessful spell in Turkey.
Bailly only joined Beşiktaş on 5 September and experienced a poor spell as the club continues to struggle. They are currently 15 points off the top of the Turkish Super League and have been eliminated from European competitions after dismal performances in the group stage of the Conference League.
Bailly played just 537 minutes in eight games (three Conference and five league) for the club. His last appearance came in the 3-1 derby defeat to Fenerbahçe on 9 December and he is now set to return to La Liga outfit Villarreal, who previously signed him for just €5m from Espanyol before Manchester United paid €40m for his services.
