The British organisation Sport Positive has published a ranking of the environmental sustainability of German Bundesliga clubs for the second time. Eintracht Frankfurt are in fourth place as of May 2023 with 17 of a possible 24 points. The assessment, which was carried out in close consultation with the club and using information provided, is divided into 11 categories. From ‘Policy and Commitment’ and ‘Sustainability Transport’ to ‘Comms and Engagement’, as many facets of environmental sustainability as possible are covered. The club achieved the maximum score in six of the 11 categories.

In the first ranking in 2021, Eintracht also occupied fourth place with 15 out of 21 points. At that time the assessment criteria were broader and only divided into eight categories. In the period between, the club can report particular progress in the category of ‘Water Efficiency’. The ranking only includes aspects of environmental sustainability – social and ethical aspects as well as company management are not taken into account.

Earlier this year, Eintracht Frankfurt presented a holistic sustainability strategy.
