English groundsman Paul Burgess is leaving Real Madrid after 11 years with the club.
Burgess announced his departure on social media, confirming he is leaving for a "new challenge".
He had left Arsenal for Real Madrid in 2009 and established himself as the leading groundsman in the country.
Since arriving in 2009, he was able to end all the problems that Madrid historically had with their pitch, especially in the South End due to the lack of light.
And with Burgess in charge, Madrid have won countless awards thanks to their playing field, which has always been visibly attractive.
He was also personally in charge of the Valdebebas playing fields and the Ciudad Deportiva gardens.
