A new scandal threatens English football after senior Swedish police officer Fredrik Gardare alleged that Premier League players have been involved in match fixing through illegal betting networks.

Explosive revelations from casino raid

Gardare who led Sweden’s organized crime task force in sport told Daily Mail that crucial evidence was seized during 2021 raid on underground casino.

Phones confiscated in the operation allegedly contained messages on Telegram proving that several PL stars bet on yellow cards, corners and other match incidents.

The Swedish officer said his team immediately informed their national football federation & expected the matter to be raised with the English FA. However according to Daily Mail, the FA's never been formally briefed about the findings.

Despite the so called "damning evidence" Swedish police dropped the case after the unit handling it was dissolved. Gardare insists the seized phones which still hold decisive proof remain in police custody.

Global football integrity at stake

"This's bigger than Sweden, It's vital for England and world football to end this corruption" Gardare stressed urging international cooperation to stop ongoing manipulation in football.

The revelations now raise fresh doubts over match integrity in the PL and put the English FA under mounting scrutiny over whether investigation will finally be launched.
