England Women’s captain Steph Houghton was left furious when her post-match interview was disrupted by USWNT midfielder Lindsey Horan on Tuesday.

Houghton’s 84th-minute penalty was saved by Alyssa Naeher as Phil Neville’s side lost 2-1 to the reigning world champions in Lyon.

And the England captain’s disappointment turned to anger when her interview with talkSPORT after the game was cut short by Horan celebrating exuberantly in the background.

“There was no need for that, was there really? Ridiculous. That’s disrespectful man,” the Manchester City defender said.

“Anyway
 can I go now please?”

The USWNT will now face either Sweden or the Netherlands in Sunday’s final and Jill Ellis’s side have also come in for criticism for the way they celebrated the victory over England, most notably Alex Morgan’s ‘tea-sipping’ celebration after netting her side’s second goal.
