After Phil Neville’s exit as England Women’s coach, Hege Riise has been installed on a temporary basis.

The former Norway midfielder won the Women’s World Cup and Olympic gold during an illustrious playing career.

Neville exited earlier this week in order to take over at MLS club Inter Miami.

And although current Netherlands boss Sarina Wiegman will take over the England role in September, a replacement was needed until then.

Wiegman had made it clear to the FA before taking the Lionesses job that she wanted to bring her country to this summer’s Olympic Games.

Riise will now step in for the next eight months.
