England to face Czech Republic in international friendly in Brighton | OneFootball

England will face the Czech Republic in an international friendly match in Brighton next month as part of their preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official press release from The Football Association a short time ago.

The Lionesses will take on an up and coming Czech side at The Amex Stadium on Tuesday 11 October 2022. The match comes just four days after England take on world champions the United States in front of a sell-out crowd at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking following this evening’s announcement, England head coach Sarina Wiegman said “The World Cup has our full focus. It is great we will have challenging matches against two opponents who have very different styles of play, as we start the road to Australia and New Zealand.

“We have achieved so much this year, but we need to be thinking about where we want to be as a squad next summer on the biggest stage of all.

“I am also very happy we get a chance to go back to Brighton and say thank you to the fans who played such a big part in our EURO experience.”

Tickets will go on-sale to My England Football members at 12pm on Wednesday 7 September 2022 for an exclusive 24-hour window. General sale will start from 12pm on Thursday 8 September 2022. Prices start at £7.50 for adults and £5 for children, with discounts available for group bookings in Category 1 and 2 seats.
