England to face Bosnia and Iceland in Euro 2024 warm-ups | OneFootball

England will play two friendly matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland in preparation for their 2024 European Championship campaign.

Manager Gareth Southgate’s squad will play Bosnia-Herzegovina at St James’ Park on June 3, marking their first return to Newcastle since 2005.

The Three Lions will face Iceland at Wembley four days later. This fixture will serve as their final test before the highly anticipated tournament.

Southgate said (via the BBC), “We’re really looking forward to taking the team back to the north-east and to a city that is synonymous with football in this country.

“We will follow that with another special occasion at Wembley, allowing our fans the opportunity to give us a final send-off before we head to Germany for another exciting summer.

“Both opponents in June are sure to provide stiff competition and play an important part in our preparation for the tournament.”

Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland are striving to qualify for Euro 2024 through the play-offs scheduled for March.

England finished as runners-up in the delayed Euro 2020 and are determined to make amends and secure victory in the upcoming competition.

Their Euro campaign kicks off against Serbia on June 16. Host nation Germany play the opening match against Scotland in Munich two days earlier.

The friendly matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland will be crucial for England’s preparations for the tournament, offering fans a glimpse of the team’s readiness.

England will be desperate to get their hands on their first continental title, having failed to do so since the first edition in 1960.

Their best performance was at the last tournament, where they lost to Italy in the final.
