The England Women squad was split into two for what turned out to be an eventful warm-up match at Stoke’s bet365 stadium on Friday … which included a hat-trick from Beth England.
Phil Neville’s side has gone ahead with getting his squad together this week despite the cancellation of the scheduled friendlies with Norway and Germany due to COVID-19 restrictions.
A 29-player squad have met up for what will be two intra-squad friendlies as Neville takes a look at his options ahead of the qualifying campaign for Euro 2022.
The first of those took place in Stoke this afternoon with the England away team thrashing the ‘home’ side 8-1.
Amongst the scorers was Chelsea’s Beth England who bagged a hat-trick for England against well, England.
Manchester United forward Ella Toone also smashed in a hat-trick while Liverpool’s Rinsola Babajide came off the bench to score with Nikita Parris grabbing the other.
Keira Walsh scored for the England home side with a stunning effort from 25 yards.
This will be the squad’s final meet-up of 2020.
