It was one-way traffic right from the start and the hosts almost took the lead around 30 seconds in, signalling they were hungry for goals.

Attempts from Ellen White, Ella Toone and Beth Mead all fell short but it didn’t take long for the Lionesses to break the deadlock.

The Manchester United starlet made it 1-0 after Leah Williamson set up Toone to be one on one with goalkeeper Suarta Rechi.

Chances continued to fly for the hosts but North Macedonia did enough to frustrate the Lionesses who missed a number of chances.

Right before the break, however, White’s strike and an own-goal from Julija Zivikj added to the scoreline.

Afterwards, manager Sarina Wiegman’s side continued to lunge forward but couldn’t convert until White scored a controversial penalty in the 67th minute.

Eventually, a brace from substitute Beth England, a Sara Kolarovska own-goal, and one from Mead secured an 8-0 win.

England finished with 47 shots and currently sit first in Group D.
