An England rugby legend, who played football with Jamie Vardy at the Sheffield Wednesday Academy, has spoken about the illustrious and boisterous Leicester City icon. Vardy's childhood acquaintance, a sports star in his own right, claims Vardy was also loud and aggressive growing up. But what else did the scrum-half say about the Premier League's most interesting and entertaining striker? What is Vardy really like? As if the Blue Army doesn't already know!
Meanwhile we take a quick look ahead to the weekend's Foxes action; the east Midlands side travel north to Old Trafford once again on Sunday. The King Power club only recently suffered League Cup elimination at the hands of Ruud van Nistelrooy's men last week. Can Leicester turn their form around versus the Red Devils? Hopefully there's a bit of good news involving a squad boost from City manager Steve Cooper's latest press conference. LCFC injury news has been confirmed - is it all good?
Unfortunately the Foxes have a fresh injury doubt prior to the contest with Man United. However, the problem does not affect one of the club's main stars or even someone who has been starting of late.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid is the Fox in question. The former Fulham man sustained an achilles issue recently. In fact, the affliction is described as a “nasty wound” to the area.
Although De Cordova-Reid is a good footballer, he hasn't quite made his name as a Leicester player yet. The Jamaican is unlikely to be fit for selection for the United fixture.
The 31-year-old joins a few sidelined Foxes at the moment. They include goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk; he is out indefinitely. Although, Hamza Choudhury and Patson Daka are said to be battling back to full fitness. But neither are expected to be ready in time if required at all for Sunday.
Care doesn't hold back in his new autobiography, by all accounts. And the most famous of all Foxes was talked of within the memoir in predictable fashion .
Vardy was referred to as an "aggressive, confrontational, gobby player. He was the same at 11, 12 years old" during his youth by Care. The two were together as Wednesday youths.
Though the 37-year-old was candid in his character description, he was very complimentary too. Vardy's exceptional career was highlighted:
