Lotte Wubben-Moy opened her account at the Estadio Nuevo Mirador after just two minutes with a header from Alex Greenwood's free kick.

The reigning European champions doubled their lead when Lauren Hemp squeezed a shot through a crowded penalty area.

Hemp added a third barely a quarter of an hour later by meeting Georgia Stanway's cross to send a looping header past Laura Giuliani.

But the Azzurre reduced their deficit on the stroke of half time as Sofia Cantore found Michela Camgiaghi, who turned the ball home.

Sarina Wiegman rang the changes after the interval but her side continued to rack up the goals through Ella Toone's 69th-minute volley.

They went further ahead when Rachel Daly seized on a weak back-pass before sidestepping Giuliani and firing into an empty net.

The Lionesses trounced Austria 7-2 in their previous friendly as part of preparations for the start of Euro 2025 qualifying in April.
