Endrick talks Vinicius, Rodrygo, Ancelotti, Mbappe, Real Madrid, Champions League | OneFootball

In a few months, Endrick will realise his dream and join Real Madrid, almost 18 months after the deal to sign him from Palmeiras was struck.

The teenage wonderkid will arrive once he turns 18 years old and Real Madrid have plans to integrate him right into the senior setup without sending him to Castilla for a period.

Endrick already has the experience of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, when he featured for and scored for Brazil against Spain in a friendly earlier this year.

Speaking in an interview with AS, the 17-year-old sensation remarked that he was extremely excited to move to Real Madrid and play at the Bernabeu.

“Getting to know the biggest club in the world is a dream for anyone who loves football. Not only for the players. For me, it was a dream come true,” he said.

Shedding light on his relationship with fellow Brazilians Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes, Endrick added:

“It’s very good. They are young players, also Brazilian, who have adapted very well to the city, the club and the way of playing in Spain. Their story, both Vini’s and Rodrygo’s, is an inspiration and they are going to help me a lot.”

On being asked whether he regularly communicates with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and manager Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazil international replied:

“I was with them in Madrid. They left me very calm and with a lot of confidence for when I arrive. They told me that they follow my games at Palmeiras and that I will be very well received.”

Winning the Champions League is the ultimate dream for every player in Europe, particularly if they are at Real Madrid, and Endrick alluded to the same during the interview, saying:

“More than wanting to, I know that it is obligatory to be a European champion if you are at Madrid. The Champions League is a tournament that Madrid always thinks about, and the team shouldn’t start the season with any other objective than that.”

On whether he dreams of winning the Ballon d’Or in the future, the 17-year-old added:

“The Ballon d’Or is the consequence of having had success in several years in the form of titles that I will work for, but I know it’s not the main thing. The club is always the main thing.”

The youngster further stated that he would love to be a part of matches where Real Madrid pull off their trademark comebacks, saying:

“To imagine being part of matches like that is just incredible: the tension, the drama, the relief and, finally, the celebration…”

It is no secret that Endrick was being chased by other top clubs like Barcelona and PSG, but opted to choose Real Madrid. When asked why he did so, the striker replied:

“It wasn’t a choice. Madrid was always a dream. I didn’t have to choose anything, I simply realised a dream.”

When asked to name a player at Real Madrid who he always wanted to meet, who surprised him the most, and who he thinks is the best, Endrick said:

“I’ve already met everyone. In the best team in the world, in every game anyone can surprise, as we have seen. It’s impossible to say who is the best in a club like this. Madrid always has three or four players who could be chosen as the best in the world.”

When asked about the impending arrival of Kylian Mbappe and how he feels about competing for minutes at Real Madrid, he replied:

“In a winning squad, no player is a threat to another. The best club in the world always has to look for the best in all positions, always.

“Being alongside great players and competing for a place with them is only going to make me improve, reach a higher level and win more titles, because the club’s titles are the most important goals.”

Finally, Endrick tipped Real Madrid to win their 15th Champions League title against Borussia Dortmund, saying:

“Madrid has the face of the Champions League and the Champions League has the face of Madrid. They are made for each other. I think history will repeat itself.

“However, matches are won on the pitch and Dortmund didn’t get to the final by chance. They are a very good team, very competitive.”
