Real Madrid-bound youngster Endrick has today provided an insight into his preference when it comes the squad number he will be afforded at his new club.

The name of Brazilian sensation Endrick has of course found itself centre stage in the headlines in Spain’s capital for some time now.

This comes ahead of his imminent arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The explosive attacker is primed to link up with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in July of this year, after at long last turning 18.

The Real hierarchy, back in 2022, agreed to fork out a hefty sum, with the potential to rise to €60 million, to bring him in from Brazilian giants Palmeiras.

Endrick, for his part, is widely considered to be a star in the making, with the success enjoyed by fellow countrymen Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo in Spain boding altogether well for the teen’s prospects, too.

Speaking in an interview with Brazilian outlet Placar TV this week, the incoming Blancos talent was in turn drawn on a whole host of interesting topics surrounding his move to La Liga.

And one such subject came in the form of his preferred squad number.

Across his time with Palmeiras, Endrick has donned the number 9, but he has revealed that, in fact, the number 7 is his ‘favourite’.

This comes for a number of reasons, one of which, notably, is the fact that Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo donned the 7 shirt whilst lining out for the club:

“There is no ideal number, but my favorite is 7,“ Endrick began. “That’s what I use in video games when I play NBA and in FIFA to play Pro Clubs. It is a number that for me draws a lot of attention because Cristiano [Ronaldo] was 7 and I also really like Luka Doncic who is a guy who wears 77, a high number. It’s a number that I look at and see a good difference.“

He continued:

“I like it a lot, but I don’t know. Now I’m the 9 at Palmeiras. I’ve played with 11, with 10, with 7… numbers don’t matter to me, but obviously 9 is a big responsibility and it’s a very good shirt too.”

The number 7 jersey in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is currently occupied by Vinícius Jr.
