Emre Can one of 3️⃣ Dortmund players doubtful for DFB Pokal clash

Emre Can has yet to start full pre-season training after returning to Borussia Dortmund last Wednesday with a calf issue.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the Germany international has been unable to complete a full stress test and has therefore been forced to work away from the team.

Left-back Raphaël Guerreiro (calf) and centre-back Mats Hummels (knee) are also carrying injuries, but sporting director Michael Zorc insists that none are considered serious.

Nevertheless, the report claims that the trio are considered doubtful for Dortmund’s trip to SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the first round of the DFB Pokal on Saturday.

Can’s late arrival to pre-season was as a result of his involvement with Germany at Euro 2020.

The former Juventus and Liverpool midfielder made three substitute appearances in the Die Mannschaft disappointing summer campaign.
