Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi has played down the seriousness of how few minutes Kristjan Asllani has played for Inter so far this season, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport Italia, via FCInternews, Fabrizio Corsi stressed that it is not a very big deal that Kristjan Asllani is not getting regular minutes at Inter at this current stage of the season.

The former Empoli midfielder has played less than one half for the Nerazzurri in Serie A although he is expected to be starting against AS Roma next weekend because Marcelo Brozovic is injured.

Fabrizio Corsi pointed out that Simone Inzaghi used him a lot in the summer friendlies and now his choices are linked to the normal mechanisms of running a squad like Inter’s.

“He tried him a lot in the summer but right now there are players more used to wearing the Inter jersey. I think the coach’s choices are linked to mechanisms of management of an important group. Kristjan is so strong and old in the head that he will become a protagonist.”

The young midfielder is viewed by many as the eventual successor to Marcelo Brozovic in the midfield.
