Empoli Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli: “Coppa Italia Clash With Inter Will Be A Big Test For Us” | OneFootball

Empoli head coach Aurelio Andreazzoli expects his team to face a big test of their quality when they face Inter in the Coppa Italia tomorrow evening.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the Italian tactician emphasized that facing the Serie A league leaders in the Coppa will be a significant challenge and also an opportunity for his players to prove themselves under examination.

Inter kick off their Coppa Italia campaign with a match against Empoli, with the newly-promoted side having been something of a surprise package in Serie A so far this season.

The Tuscans have gotten some famous results in the league and sit comfortably in midtable, although when they faced the Nerazzurri in the league they fell to a 2-0 defeat despite hardly looking out of their depth.

Andreazzoli’s team will have a second crack at Inter and a chance to prove themselves in the Coppa, although he is under no illusion that it will be anything other than a very difficult match for them.

“It will be a chance to put the team and the individual players to the test,” he said of the match with Inter, “even those who haven’t played much yet.”

He emphasized that “We want to succeed against an opponent who, with their resources and the quality of their football, we are hardly in the same conversation with. We will do everything to do our part.”
