The 24-year-old was pictured with Arsenal star and England captain Leah Williamson at the event, but she also met up with a number of other sporting icons.

Who did Sabrina Ionescu hang out with in London?

Ionescu joined Raducanu, the 2021 US Open winner, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Tyson Fury’s heavyweight fight against Derek Chisora.

The pair watched on as ‘The Gypsy King’ beat Chisora for the third time and retained his world title.

Raducanu shared a selfie with Ionescu on her Instagram Story, sparking delight among sports fans.

It wasn’t the only football stadium that Ionescu visited during her time in London – she also stopped by at Stamford Bridge to meet Kerr, receiving a signed Chelsea shirt from the team’s star striker.

In return, Kerr was given a signed New York Liberty shirt with Ionescu’s name and number on the back.

A photo of the pair was posted on Chelsea Women’s Instagram, along with the caption “Game meets game”.

Who is Sabrina Ionescu?

Ionescu has always been a star in the making, becoming the only NCAA Division I basketball player to record 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds in the competition while at the University of Oregon.

She has been playing in the WNBA since 2020, when she was drafted to New York Liberty.

The American has taken the league by storm, becoming the first WNBA player to record 500 points, 200 rebounds and 200 assists in a single season earlier this year.

Ionescu has also represented her country numerous times, winning this year’s World Cup with the US.

As one of the rising stars in women’s basketball, Ionescu caught the eye of the late Kobe Bryant back in 2019.

Bryant soon became a mentor to the blossoming young talent, recognising that Ionescu could become a legend herself.

After Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, Ionescu spoke at a celebration of his life at the Staples Centre the following month. During her speech, she highlighted Bryant’s desire to raise the profile of women’s basketball.
